To all our players, members and fans. I truly hope that you and your loved ones have remained safe and healthy.

It has been a tough few weeks for a large number of Canadians and it seems there is a long road ahead for us all. As we enter the next phase of actions taken by our federal and provincial governments, to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, there are many people who concerned, anxious and have lost their livelihoods – some temporarily, others permanently. The impact to our province at this time has been enormous.

In response to the situation, AFL Ontario has made the decision to suspend all football and club activities, including: team trainings, team pre-season events and any group gatherings. The health and safety of all members is their greatest priority, and this decision was reached to help ensure that everyone involved with AFL Ontario makes it through the coming weeks as safely as possible.

In the meantime, I encourage everyone to observe the guidance and instructions that have been issued by the relevant authorities in relation to isolation and social distancing. It is important that we all play our part to #FlattenTheCurve. If you require more information on COVID-19 you can find it here at the Government of Canada website.

Please take care of yourself, your family and your loved ones.

Kind regards,

S. Capoferri
President
