The Toronto Eagles community came together on Saturday night for the highly anticipated 2025 Awards Gala, an evening filled with recognition, celebration, and club pride. Hosted with the generous support of Vision Glass, the club’s major sponsor, the event highlighted the strength of the Eagles’ culture both on and off the field. Vision Glass was acknowledged throughout the night for their ongoing commitment to the club, including the launch of their new community-focused initiative, Project Vision.

The evening celebrated not only the standout performers of the 2025 season but also the enduring legacy of club members who have shaped the Toronto Eagles over the years. Four new members were inducted into the Toronto Eagles Hall of Fame, an honour reserved for those whose contributions have had a lasting impact on the club.

2025 Award Winners

Rising Star Award: Jack McVeigh
Jack McVeigh’s breakout season earned him the Rising Star title, thanks to his rapid development, fearless play, and consistency on the field. McVeigh impressed coaches and teammates alike with his decision-making under pressure and his ability to step into key roles when the team needed him most. His growth this season signals a bright future for one of the club’s most exciting young talents.

Coaches Award: Dillon Doherty
Awarded to the player who best exemplifies commitment, effort, and a team-first mentality, the Coaches Award went to Dillon Doherty. Doherty’s reliability at training, willingness to take on challenges, and consistent hard work have made him an invaluable member of the squad. His leadership by example set the tone for players across the lineup.

Defender of the Year: Jarrod Watson
A cornerstone of the backline, Jarrod Watson earned Defender of the Year for his exceptional defensive discipline and ability to shut down opponents’ top forwards week after week. Watson’s intercept marks, clean ball movement out of the back, and on-field communication anchored the Eagles’ defensive structure all season.

Mark Block Clubman Award: Carson Machin
The Clubman Award recognizes outstanding dedication to the club community, and this year, Carson Machin stood out for his tireless work behind the scenes. Whether assisting coaches, supporting game-day operations, or fostering team spirit, Machin consistently went above and beyond to make the Eagles a stronger club both socially and competitively.

Club Milestone Award: Salv Capoferri – 200 Games
Celebrating an extraordinary achievement, Salv Capoferri reached the 200-game milestone, marking years of loyalty, resilience, and leadership. Capoferri’s longevity and dedication reflect a true passion for the club, inspiring veteran players and youth alike. His contribution to the Eagles brand, culture, and history cannot be overstated.

Leading Goal Kicker: Mason Wilson
With impressive accuracy and strong forward presence, Mason Wilson claimed the Leading Goal Kicker award. His ability to find space inside 50, convert difficult shots, and lift the team during critical moments made him a constant threat throughout the season.

Troy Marsh Best and Fairest Award: Yuma Hemphill
The club’s highest honour, the Best and Fairest, was awarded to Yuma Hemphill after a remarkable season marked by consistency, endurance, and elite skill. Hemphill’s influence across all areas of the field, combined with his sportsmanship and team-first attitude, made him a standout performer every week. His commitment to excellence embodies the spirit of the Eagles.

2025 Hall of Fame Inductees

The Toronto Eagles proudly welcomed four new members into the Hall of Fame, each a premiership player whose impact helped shape the club’s success and identity. Their achievements on the field, combined with their lasting contributions off it, have cemented their places among the Eagles’ greats:

  • Mike Hooyer – A premiership player recognized for his leadership and exceptional performance during his playing career. Hooyer was known for setting the standard on game day, consistently delivering in high-pressure moments while leading by example. His influence extended beyond his own play, helping elevate those around him.
  • Marc Nord – A premiership player and former club president, Nord’s dedication to club culture has left a lasting mark both on and off the field. As a leader in both playing and administrative roles, he helped guide the Eagles through key stages of growth, fostering a strong, inclusive, and competitive environment.
  • Frank Luisser – A premiership player and standout performer across his career, Luisser was widely respected for his skill, consistency, and passion for the game. His contributions to team spirit and club success are celebrated by all who know him, with his presence helping drive the Eagles’ competitive edge.
  • Tom Hammond – A premiership player and true clubman, Hammond played a vital role in helping build and shape the foundation of the Eagles. His commitment to the club’s growth and success over decades, both on and off the field, has cemented his place as a cornerstone of the Eagles community.
