This weekend the Toronto Eagles head back to Humber South for round 3 of the AFL Ontario season, where they face their oldest league rival in the High Park Demons.

Both teams will be competing not only for 4 premiership points this weekend, but also the first ever Malcolm Foletti Cup. Which will be competed for in honor of Malcolm Foletti, one of the founding members of AFL Ontario.

After a solid start to the season, the Eagles will be pushing to keep themselves at the top end of the AFL Ontario ladder. With a few injury issues to the list, rumor has it that some returning and new faces have arrived down at the club. Injury concerns aside, the Eagles would still be considered by many as clear favorites to take the points and will be looking to have a strong showing this weekend.

The Demons have been on the opposite end of the spectrum, having had a rough start to their 2018 campaign. A heavy loss in round one to Etobicoke and a forfeit in round two hasn’t set the Dee’s on the right path, but they will no doubt be hoping to get themselves on the winners list this weekend.

Many may feel this will be a one sided affair in the Eagles favor, but with the first annual Malcolm Foletti Cup on the line, you wouldn’t be wrong in expecting a highly competitive game between both teams.

KEY FACTORS
1. Last weekend the Eagles were able to find more scoring avenues up forward. They will need to build on this, as to be successful this season, this will need to be a regular occurrence moving forward.

2. The Demons have had a horrid start to season and will be looking to right the ship this weekend by claiming their first scalp of the 2018 season.

3. The Eagles have had the wood over the Dee’s for the past few seasons, with some massive wins at Humber. Will we see more of the same this or will there be an upset? Time will tell..
