Toronto Eagle, Aaron Falcioni, participated in the Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure last Sunday, joining thousands of Canadians in the fight against breast cancer. Organized by the Canadian Cancer Society, the event is one of the nation’s largest annual fundraisers, supporting life-saving research and resources for breast cancer patients.
Falcioni, along with colleagues from triOS College, formed a team in honor of their close friend, Vinnie, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. “When Vinnie shared her diagnosis, it shook all of us. We felt helpless at first, but then realized we could take action by showing our support and raising awareness,” Falcioni explained. The team participated to show their solidarity with Vinnie and countless others battling the disease.
Falcioni’s participation wasn’t just personal—his fundraising efforts garnered widespread support from the Toronto Eagles community and the larger AFL Ontario network. Thanks to the generosity of teammates, friends, and fellow AFL members, he successfully raised $1,191.10. “I was blown away by the support. It just shows how much strength a community can offer in tough times. Every dollar raised goes toward helping those impacted by this disease, and I’m proud to have played a small part in that.”
The CIBC Run for the Cure is held across the country to raise funds for breast cancer research, prevention, and support services for those living with the disease. For more information about the event and how you can contribute, visit CIBC Run for the Cure.
